Daniel Webster (Republican Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing Florida's 11th Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 2017. His current term ends on January 3, 2025.
Webster (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the U.S. House to represent Florida's 11th Congressional District. He declared candidacy for the Republican primary scheduled on August 20, 2024.
Webster was first elected to the U.S. House from Florida's 8th Congressional District in 2010. In 2013, he won election to the House representing the newly redistricted Florida's 10th Congressional District, which he represented until 2017. In the 2016 election, Webster ran and was elected to represent Florida's 11th Congressional District after redistricting in the 10th District affected more than 60 percent of his former constituency.
In his time in Congress, Webster has served on the Committee on Natural Resources, the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology, and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
Webster previously served in District 39 of the Florida House of Representatives from 1980 to 1998, the 12th District of the Florida State Senate from 1998 to 2002 and the 9th District of the Florida State Senate from 2002 to 2008.
He served as the Speaker of the House in the Florida House of Representatives from 1996 to 1998.
Webster was born in Charleston, WV, and raised in Orlando, FL. He attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he was student government chaplain from 1970 to 1971. He graduated in 1971 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
