Brian K. Fitzpatrick, Representative from Pennsylvania's 1st District

Brian Fitzpatrick (Republican Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing Pennsylvania's 1st Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 2019. His current term ends on January 3, 2025.

Fitzpatrick (Republican Party) is running for re-election to the U.S. House to represent Pennsylvania's 1st Congressional District. He declared candidacy for the 2024 election.

Fitzpatrick was first elected to represent the 8th Congressional District in 2016, replacing his older brother Michael G. Fitzpatrick (R). Prior to that, he worked as an FBI supervisory special agent and special assistant United States attorney.

Fitzpatrick's district changed in 2018 due to redistricting that occurred in Pennsylvania. To read more about that process, click here.

Georgetown University’s Lugar Center rated Fitzpatrick as the most independent first-term lawmaker for the 115th Congress. Their rating system factored in how often lawmakers’ bills received support from members of another party and how often they sponsored legislation from another party. Discussing his record prior to the 2018 election with WHYY, Fitzpatrick said, "I get objection from the right and from the left because I’m a centrist. And when you get pushback from both sides in a district like Bucks County, you know that you’re exactly where you need to be."

Fitzpatrick earned his J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law and his bachelor's from Penn State University. He graduated from Bishop Egan High School.
